Brutus

Well hello there…thank you for checking me out! My name might be Brutus but I am much more of a lover than a fighter. I am part of the black and white litter. I have my puppy bursts of energy but more often than not I am happy to chill on someone's lap. I am only 10 weeks old but I have yet to have an accident in my foster home. I can't promise I am completely housebroken but I am definitely well on my way. My foster family consists of 3 large dogs and 2 cats. I am quite social and get along with everyone. My foster mom works from home and I have tons of fur friends to keep me company. I really hope you have a somewhat flexible schedule and other fur kids or these really interesting smaller people I have seen. My mom weighs 60lbs and my dad weighs 80lbs, they are both friendly, social dogs. I am super smart and working on my basic commands and leash training. I am really getting the hang of these big dog tricks…I do especially well if treats are involved…just sayin! Give my people a call if you want to meet me…I know I will want to meet you! This pup has not yet been altered and requires an extra $100 spay/neuter deposit. JCAPL will pay for the procedure at a partner clinic and once completed, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter. However, a non-local adopter is required to pay for the spay/neuter at their own veterinarian by a specific date. After proof of the procedure is provided, $50 of the adoption fee will be refunded with the deposit. If you are interested in adopting this puppy (or any other JCAPL pet), please complete an application and either email it to the help@jcapl.org or fax it to (919)300-5524. You may download an application from the website at www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation by sending in an application, but we process them in the order received. We do not facilitate adoptions over the phone.

Rocky is a super sweet, happy, and excited boy! He has a ton of energy, so he would benefit from a family with a yard and lots of time for him. He is 63lbs and just over a year old. He loves other animals and is gentle with kids, which makes him a great family dog. Because of his love for chewing, he will need a home with lots of toys and bones! Rocky’s funny personality never fails to make everyone around him laugh. He loves long walks and running around outside, chasing a ball, or playing with other dogs. He is potty and crate trained. Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center). We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. Thanks for thinking adoption!

Mina is an 8-month-old retriever mix. Where to begin - let's start with all of her positives. She is the perfect size at 38 lbs., she has the most beautiful shiny, soft, plush fur. She loves to play with all dogs and is cat friendly. She is very quiet and loves to play in her backyard. Her tail wags when you look at her and she loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. She is potty trained and has run of the house and has never damaged anything. She is smart and has learned several commands. Unfortunately, she had a bad start in life and learned to fear everything and everyone. Mina is young and has made a ton of progress, it took a while to gain her love and trust and we have gotten her past a lot of her fears with time, love, and patience. We are looking for a patient adopter who will continue working with her. Mina will need a playful, well-adjusted dog to continue to show her how great life can be, she has learned a lot from her fur foster sister. She will also need a secure fenced in yard, where she can enjoy running and playing, she is quite good at fetch. Mina is still fearful of people and uses my bed as her safe place and where she retreats when afraid. She lives in a home with cats, dog (we have had multiple dogs stay for periods of time and she loves them all). Mina will need a quieter home with someone that is home most all the time and can continue working with her. You can easily see that she wants to get past her fears and is trying hard every day. Mina is so sweet, and I love her so much and in so many ways she really is a perfect dog and if you will give her love and patience, you will be rewarded with the sweetest dog ever. They say I’m a beautiful girl. I’m not sure what that means. I’m just me. I can tell you a little about myself. I’m about 1 year old and weigh 34lbs. I’m kind of scared about things, but I’m getting better, and with the right family, I know I will do good. Life started out a little rough for my sisters and me. We weren’t really socialized as pups, so we didn’t realize how cool people could be. A nice rescue took us in. Now, I’m in a really cool foster home with a dog and two loving, patient people. The dog helps me be more confident and trusting of the people so my forever home will need a playful, confident dog to continue helping me. I also get along with cats. Life is still a little scary. I had spay surgery, and went through heart worm treatment, and that was tough. But, now I’m healthy, and ready to start looking for my forever home. A fenced yard is best as I’m still scared of the leash. We are working on that, and with practice, I’ll get there. At this point, I’m most comfortable in my home or yard, so a low key (loud noises are still scary for me), homebody family would be best. Maybe one day I will like hiking and parks and breweries, but not yet. I just learned how to play with toys. Slow and easy. I know I can learn so much more, with a patient and loving family. Hey!  My name is Rizzo but sometimes they call me Runt-runt because I was the smallest in my litter. My foster mom took my siblings and me in when we were only 2-3 weeks old. I may be smaller than my brothers and sister but I can run really fast and LOVE to climb out of my playpen to go explore the house!  I can be a little scared around new people sometimes. I like my foster brothers. They are a lot bigger than I am but they like to play with me and sometimes they’ll even let me curl up next to them for a nap. I like to take naps with people too. They are so warm and cuddly. I will do best with older, dog savvy children. Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Diamond is a sweet 8 yr old girl who loves the great outdoors! But she's the best of both worlds as she also loves to cuddle on the couch too! As much as she loves being outside, she does not like thunderstorms and fireworks, but she does well in her crate for these events. She also is not fond of cats. Otherwise she is a sweet baby who would love to become part of your family! Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Hey my name is Patty/mommy dog! I love life and I'm not afraid to let you know! I was used as a baby factory in my short 3 years of life but now I'm looking to be the baby! I'm a spunky little spitfire who is vocal and loves love! I want all of your love, all the time! I'm Not a barker but I do love to talk! I love to sit out on the deck and watch nature and do patrols around the yard. Otherwise, I love to be by your side getting rubs and kisses and playing with toys! I am one happy girl with a new lease on life! I am great around kids of all ages but due to me not knowing my size I would probably be better with older kids or if my new family had experience with my breed or similar breeds of dogs. I would be great almost anywhere! When it comes to other dogs I am very selective! I would do best with a smaller male dog who is more on the submissive side because I love to play and tend to like to be the boss but when I choose to love you I will spoon you and cuddle you all night! I don't like being away from my humans for long periods of time! I will go in a large crate if need be but don't like being in there very long and can be destructive in that I get bored! I have so much love to give and deserve all the love in the world! Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen?
